Frequently Asked Questions

No need to raise your hand! We’ve got answers. If you don’t see yours here just send us a note.

Who is the master class for?

MarketWise Academy’s master class, Fast. Forward. is for:

  • Graphic designers who want to lead design conversations in a language that marketers and business leaders value.
  • Digital media designers who want to boost sales by broadening their design skills to include physical touch points such as direct mail and packaging.
  • Marketing managers, directors, and coordinators who want to lead their teams with evolving edge strategic thinking.
  • Brand managers who want to connect better with their customers.
  • Entrepreneurs who want to talk directly to their customers to grow sales, build brand loyalty, and increase their company’s value.

Is the class in-person or virtual?

Fast. Forward. is an in-person or virtual, interactive master class offered in an informal, small, classroom-style environment. Class sizes vary—but we always cap the class at 100 students to keep it small enough to meet everyone, but large enough to have various perspectives in our discussions.

Is the class all day?

For in-person classes we meet in a day-long format. Doors open at 7:30 am; class runs from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. For virtual master classes, we split the program into two half days, meeting online from noon–4:00 EST.

Will the class be recorded?

In-person classes are not recorded, but virtual classes are—with the opportunity for registered attendees to revisit the recording for a period of 2 weeks after the virtual class.

What should I wear? (in-person class)

For in-person classes, the dress code is business casual, but honestly, we just want you to be comfortable for the day. So, if jeans (or fancy dresses!) are your thing, those work just as well. You do you. We’ll do our best to manage the room temperature, but we suggest that you bring a sweater or dress in layers as event rooms tend to have uneven heating, and there is nothing worse than being cold or hot all day long.

Do you serve lunch or snacks? (in-person class)

Lunch and snacks are included in your tuition; however, you are welcome to bring your own food if you prefer. There will be boxed lunches, and we’ll have filtered water, hot coffee, and tea all day. Psst! There’s even a chocolate break. If you have special dietary needs, please contact as soon as possible and we should be able to accommodate you as long as you register early action or right on time.

How many people attend the class?

Class sizes vary, depending on the space and the COVID guidelines, but we always cap them at 100 people.

What do I need to bring?

Bring your favorite note-taking device – laptop, pen, and paper, etc. — and be sure to bring a jacket or sweater in preparation for unpredictable room temperatures.

Do you offer early bird discounts?

We do! If you pre-register you will receive a $50 promo code when we notify you of the official date.

Do you take walk up registrations?

Space is limited, and we’d hate to have to turn you away, if we are at capacity. It’s best to register early.

Can I save my seat without a credit card payment?

Unfortunately, we cannot save seats without a credit card.

If the date is still TBD, can I save my seat?

Yes! In fact, if you pre-register you will receive a $50 promo code when we notify you of the official date.

If a class is sold out, do you have a waiting list?

Yes! Your name will be added to the waitlist and if someone cancels, we will contact you. If we have at least 50 people on our waitlist, we’ll open up a second day.

Can I watch a video primer more than once?

You bet! The primer will be available to you to watch as many times as you’d like for 12 months from the date of purchase.

If I want to watch several video primers, do you have bundled pricing?

Not yet, but this is in the works.

Can I request a video primer topic?

Of course! We are always happy to hear from you. Just send us a note.

How do I join a circle?

It’s easy. Just register here.

Can I join any circle?

Each Circle has specific focus. Join the Circles that fit your focus.

When and how do the circles meet?

Circles meet virtually once a week for one hour for 4 weeks.

What if I can’t make it to a circle meet up?

The Circles are recorded and are available to watch for 2 weeks from the date of the virtual meet-up.

Are the circles recorded?

Yes, and they are available for 2 weeks after the meeting.

Can I connect with my circle outside of the scheduled meeting time?

Yes! We have created a MarketWise Academy LinkedIn group just for this purpose.

How can I join the MarketWise Academy LinkedIn group?

Once you Save Your Seat for a Fast. Forward. master class, a video primer or a mentoring circle, you will receive an invitation to join the group.

Do you offer student discounts?

We’re not offering student discounts at this time, but we know it’s important to mentor not only current marketing and design leaders, but also future leaders. With this in mind, when we host a master class, we will work with local undergraduate or graduate programs in those cities. If you are an educational institution, please contact us at if you’re interested in exploring this.

We offer mentoring circles, specifically for those early in their career and on-demand video primers that teach foundational concepts and skills, not covered in our master classes.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, we do! We encourage organizations to send more than one person to attend. Companies sending more than 5 attendees will pay the group rate of $695 per registration. Please contact us at to purchase group seats. Group purchases must be made in a single order from the same organization. Individuals from separate companies or organizations may not group together in the same order to receive the discount.

Have a group of 50+? Contact us at for a private class.

What are your COVID-19 Precautions for in-person classes?

We’ll be working closely with our hosting cities and venues in the coming months to ensure that we are implementing the highest safety protocols and measures recommended by Health Officials and Government Agencies.

  • To mask or not to mask? If it’s required in the city or venue where an in-person Fast. Forward. master class is taking place, it will be required in our master class. If masks are not required, they will always be optional for any attendee.
  • Shake, hug, or fist bump? Some people will not be comfortable touching someone else. You do you and others will too.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the space, and we recommend cleaning your hands often.

Our goal is to make you feel as safe as possible while you have a memorable, enriching experience. Please contact us at with any questions or concerns you may have.

What if I am sick on the day of the master Class?

If you have a fever, loss of taste/smell, or are showing any other potential symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19, or have recently been in close contact with anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19, please stay home and contact us at to initiate a credit toward a future class or a transfer.

How can I be notified about upcoming classes?

Do you offer virtual classes?

Yes. You may join a virtual Master Class, a Mentoring Circles or take a Video Primer.

Can I attend if I don’t live in the city where the class is taking place?

Of course! If you don’t want to wait until Fast. Forward. comes to your city, you are welcome to register in any city you want. We welcome both regional and long-distance travelers to our classes.

If I cannot make it on the date, will there be other classes?

Yes, thanks for asking! We will be frequently adding cities throughout the year, and if you join our email list, you’ll be the first to know the communities we’ll be coming to. And, if you’re up for a trip, you are always welcome to travel to any of our classes.

How can I increase the likelihood that a class will come to my city?

If we’re not scheduled in your area yet, please email us at to request that we come to your city next. Just like any business, we gauge the level of interest before booking—but with your help, it’s much more likely we’ll be there sooner rather than later.

What is your cancellation policy?

While we don’t give refunds, we do understand extenuating circumstances—just one of the many things we learned from the pandemic. If you do need to cancel, contact us and we will try to be as accommodating as we can. You can also transfer the seat to a friend or colleague for the master class you booked. Please just send us a note at so that we can update the attendee information to ensure there is no confusion during check-in.
